Cellular Antenna to be mounted at Side of Building with 25 foot Extension Cables

Posted by Michael Crudele on

We recently had a client reach out to us about a cellular antenna that he wanted to place on the side of his building. He noticed that we had a vehicular antenna, part 170653-000, and wanted something similar to that product. He also informed us that he was looking for a 25-foot cable extension and wanted to receive some recommendations.   Considering part # 170653-000 is a dual cellular product and our assumption that your main concern is to have an antenna outside, we recommend 2 pcs of the Cradlepoint outdoor omnidirectional antenna # 170668-000. Part # 170668-000 is a...

Antenna with UL Type 4X Training

Posted by Michael Crudele on

We recently came in contact with a client that was looking for an antenna with UL Type 4X rating similar to IP67. He claimed that he wanted to mount external antennas on a NEMA box. In response, all of our antennas are typically IP rated, but not UL rated because all of our antennas do not have any active element which means UL rating is not required for our antennas. In my opinion, if I were putting a router in a NEMA box (I’m assuming we are talking about a cellular router?) I would use the appropriate version of the...

Difference between Part # RDA698/2700SSM and RDA698/2700-1-SSM

Posted by Michael Crudele on

Q) What is the difference between part numbers RDA698/2700SSM and RDA698/2700-1-SSM?   A) Firstly, I want to pose a question. Will you need to pass any carrier certification testing for your device? If you do need a certification, it leads me to the main difference between the two antennas. Part # RDA698/2700SSM does not have a high enough “efficiency” to pass the testing that AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint require. On the other hand, part # RDA698/2700-1-SSM is recommended if you plan on receiving a carrier certification. This antenna costs a bit more but will easily pass the carrier test for...

Comparable Model to GPSMB502 in White

Posted by Michael Crudele on

Recently a client contacted us about purchasing an antenna similar to part # GPSMB502 from Arcadian Inc. They wanted the antenna in white and wanted any recommendations we could give.   We recommend the RFMAX part # RBDM-G44WW-17-SSSRR-W. The RFMAX part # RBDM-G44WW-17-SSSRR-W is a compact, low profile, ultra-rugged direct mount antenna that’s designed for a machine-to-machine application. It’s a 5-in-1 brick that is designed for outdoor and indoor use with 1 x GPS, 2 x cellular, and 2 x Wi-Fi elements. The antenna is easy to install and 100% vandal-proof.   Note: This antenna is a 5-in-1’s, but you can simply trim...

Low Profile Antenna to be mounted on a Truck

Posted by Michael Crudele on

Recently, we had a client call in to inquire about a low profile antenna that could be mounted onto a truck with a dome-like shape. He reached out to us stating that he had an AER3100 Cradlepoint and was in the process of purchasing a “command” vehicle for future events. He also needed a little help clearing up his confusion regarding the modems. He said that his AER3100 has two LTE connections but the modems only come with one SIM card slot so he wanted to know whether he had to purchase two antennas or one for the two LTE...
